CAD based 3-D models

---

Over the years, I had various requirements to draw or illustrate objects related to some patents I was working on.

These projects needed to be drawn with precision in CAD software, and then needed to be rendered in a 3D modelling program.

The rendering process of CAD drawings can produce life-like images of objects complete with

light-mapping, shadows, reflections, transparencies, and texturing... among other features.

It took little time to start at a rudimentary level, but nearly 20 years to progress to the point where I am at now...

Able to create complex multi-segment models complete with joints and moving parts anchored to their respective counterparts,

it is possible to take these completed models and stage them in videos and other multi-media objects requiring a relatively short time period.

Building up the more complex models indeed will consume many hours of work, but the finished product can be saved and re-used in future renderings,

becoming a part of a growing collection of modelled objects. This page showcases some of the various 3D models Ive done thru the years, plus current projects.

to make it interesting at the start, I will show one of the more complex models, so things get rolling better for you...

then I will show other individual elements and objects in between the larger projects, to round out the subject matter.

The BattleTech / MechWarrior "Loki" model -

shown in various stages of completion, featuring some of the animations also.

This thing (if in reality) stands nearly 40 feet tall, and weighs around 65 tons...

3D art can really improve text or other traditially flat 2D stuff...

refresh this page if you missed the animation sequence.

Its set to loop only one time.

Here what we made that 3D art from ... his buisness card

quite a difference.
